It took a spring vacation, and a chat on a remote beach in Florida, to introduce these two Roswell women and set the stage for a sweet friendship and a dynamic business duo. A duo who was recently presented with Atlanta’s highest event industry award (Allie Award) in two categories: Best Corporate Tradeshow and Best Corporate Team.

Both Deb Hull and Gillian Marto live in Roswell, however they didn’t meet until they were introduced by mutual friends on that fateful spring break in 2016.During a lazy afternoon enjoying sand and surf, they discovered they had a lot in common. Both love the sea and consider themselves to be “Island girls” as Gillian originally hails from Jamaica, and Deb spent 24 years living in the Hilton Head Island area.

They don’t live far from each other and found that they share a passion and talent for event planning. At the time, Gillian was an award-winning, luxury wedding planner, and Deb worked in the corporate world as a Director of Marketing and PR. To their delight, they found that they shared the same vision for how events could be crafted experientially to provide memorable, branded occasions which were personalized, built relationships, and reinforced brands.

That Fall Gillian had the opportunity to expand her business with a large, corporate event and called her new friend Deb to see if she would like to come onboard for the pitch. They ended up with the job and discovered that they worked (and laughed) extremely well together- so well that they won the Allie Award that year for their very first project together, and Gillian was named Atlanta’s “Rising Star” in the industry.

Since then, their Roswell-based company, Events of a Lifetime Productions, has had the privilege of producing corporate, charity and social events for some of Atlanta’s biggest names, like the Intercontinental Hotel Group, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, St. Jude’s Research Hospital, and The Legends of Charity

Super Bowl event. They have worked and collaborated with Atlanta’s Modern Luxury brand, the Mayor’s office, and are currently planning two big events for Roswell entities including a celebration of Hilbert Law’s 10 th Anniversary, and Roswell’s She is Safe’s annual Gala. They work in the social, charity and corporate space while still accepting a small number of luxury, destination, and multi-cultural weddings.

“We bring the WOW factor,” smiled Gillian. “It might be an aerialist as a table centerpiece, or a strolling table with a live person serving food, even a signature cocktail branded with the event/company or wedding logo,” she elaborated. “We craft the entire event with interesting elements to achieve goals,” added Deb. “We bring marketing and PR principles to our events so that people get the maximum for their investment.”

Both women attribute their success to the Lord’s direction and blessing on their commitment to integrity, and hard work. They are thankful for their friendship and feel that their creative talents were given to serve a higher purpose. “The first thing that the Lord did was create,” smiled Deb. “We strive to not only create beautiful and dynamic functions, but to impart encouragement, and communicate value to each person, dishwasher to celebrity, whom we come into contact with during the course of our events.”
